Nurturing a life-long love of dance
At QBSD, students are encouraged to set and pursue personal levels of achievement in the dance disciplines of their choice and nurture within themselves, a lifelong love of music and dance whether they are aspiring professionals or recreational dancers. Whatever your desired level of dance, there’s no time like to today get started.
Our Classes

Jazz
A performance dance style with strong technique and high energy. - Leather slip on jazz shoes are required, leotards and tights

Tap
Fun, up beat, rhythmical class - black leotard, black tights, black short skirt, tap shoes

Contemporary
A expressive form of dance that combines elements of modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet - bare feet, leotard and tights

Musical Theatre
Performance focused combining music and singing, acting and dance. Musical Theatre Production classes work towards performing a full scale musical theatre production at the Village Theatre in Qualicum each spring .

Ballet
Following the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, each May students in grades 1 upwards who are technically ready will take ballet exams.
Pre-School - Grade 2 - pink leotard, pink tights, leather ballet slippers (not split soles), pink ballet skirt for Pre-School - Primary

Performance Team
By invitation only, this program offers an outlet for talented students who are ready for exposure to a more focused training with a higher degree of discipline and a higher standard than the recreational classes. These dances compete in local competitions and have opportunities for travel to conventions and other dance related experiences.

Hip Hop
High energy, vibrant form of dance that combines a variety of street dance styles - t-shirts and sweat pants or leggings, clean indoor running shoes required

Adult Classes
Fun dance and musical theatre classes specifically designed for the adult dancer, either new to dance or with previous experience. Please check our schedule.

All QBSD classes perform in annual Winter Show is December and Year End Recital in June.
